Nuthatch on a Maple
“Curiosity” is one of the most consummate terms any bird enthusiast can use to describe one of the Northwest’s most gregarious residents: the Black-capped chickadee. These energetic song birds can often be seen hanging about and tilted upside down on tree branches and poking their beaks in anyone and everyone’s business. These charming birds can often be seen foraging and searching for their next meal anywhere they can find it, including your bird feeders or gardens. So keep your eyes and ears open this spring and you could be one of the lucky folks to encounter one or several of these black and white patterned dynamos right in your own backyard.
